We are delighted to hear that staff at the Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency in Swansea have voted to make Blood Bikes Wales their Charity of Choice for 2020.
The Charity of Choice initiative was launched in 2014 and so far DVLA staff have raised a massive total of £250,000 for the
5 charities they have supported up to now. Staff engage in a number of activities throughout the year including challenging hikes, mountain climbing, bake sales and sports tournaments to raise a huge amount of money.
Nigel Ward, Chairman of Blood Bikes Wales expressed his thanks ‘The demand for our service has increased over 50% in the last 12 months alone. The support of organisations such as DVLA is essential to keep our free service to our NHS going. For every bike you see on the road there is a team keeping them there. I’d like to welcome the staff of DVLA to that team.’
