Corau Rhys Meirion – 27 Chwefror am 9.00 ar S4C

Dathlu gwaith gwirfoddolwyr y gwasanaethau brys yn Llŷn

Dod a gwirfoddolwyr y gwasanaethau brys at ei gilydd fydd Rhys Meirion yr wythnos hon yn rhan o’r gyfres boblogaidd Corau Rhys Meirion.

“Mae’r gwasanaethau brys mor bwysig ym Mhen Llŷn. Mae hi’n ardal sy’n bell o ysbytai, ac yn ddibynnol iawn ar y gwasanaethau brys a’r gwirfoddolwyr sy’n caniatáu bod y gwasanaethau hynny ar gael,” meddai Rhys Meirion.

Daeth dros gant o aelodau at e‘i gilydd i ffurfio’r côr, oedd yn cynnwys gwirfoddolwyr o’r gwasanaethau brys megis yr Ambiwlans Awyr, RNLI, Beiciau Gwaed Cymru ac Ymatebwyr Cyntaf.

Ychwanegodd Rhys: “Mae ‘na waith diolch i’r gwirfoddolwyr am eu gwaith diflino dros y gwasanaethau brys. Dwi’n gobeithio bydd ffurfio’r côr hwn yn ffordd o ddiolch ac i ddathlu eu gwaith caled.”

O dan arweiniaeth y maestro Brian Hughes o Rosllarechugog, mi fydd y côr yn wynebu’r her o berfformio ‘Cân y Caethweision’ o Opera Nabucco gan Verdi. Ymunwch yn y dathlu nos Iau, 27 Chwefror am 9.00 ar S4C.

Corau Rhys Meirion – 27 February at 9pm on S4C

Celebrating the work of emergency services volunteers in Llŷn

Rhys Meirion will be bringing emergency services volunteers together this week as part of the popular Corau Rhys Meirion series.

“The emergency services are so important on the Llŷn Peninsula. It’s an area far from hospitals, and very dependent on the emergency services and the volunteers who allow these services to be available,” said Rhys Meirion.

Over a hundred members came together to form the choir, which included volunteers from the emergency services such as the Air Ambulance, RNLI, Blood Bikes Wales and First Responders.

Rhys added: “It’s a big ask to thank the volunteers for their tireless work for the emergency services. I hope that forming this choir will be a way of thanking and celebrating their hard work.”

Under the leadership of maestro Brian Hughes of Rosllarechugog, the choir will face the challenge of performing Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves from Verdi’s opera Nabucco. Join in the celebrations on Thursday, 27 February at 9.00 on S4C.
